Notes: From Anderson: This had been printed in 1689 and had been reissued with a label added to the title page in 1711; it was translated into English and published about 1700 with a dedication to Edmund Dummer, M.P. for Arundel.' None of these has the author's name mentioned, but it is known from references by other writers. The same engraved half-title as had been used for Renau's book was again used in 1731 for Pitot's La Theorie de Ia Manoeuvre des Vaisseaux riduite en pratique; this, according to Roding, was translated into English in 1743.
