Notes: From Anderson: This is a small folio in two Parts containing respectively 134 and 286 pages of text. Part I goes deeply into sixes and proportions and includes a most valuable sample specification for a new ship; Part II is concerned mainly with the question of prices of labour and materials. A second edition appeared in 1729 and a third (called on the title-page the second) in 1740. Both have the original Part II still dated 1717. The first edition is in the British Museum, the second in the London Library and the third in the Royal United Service Institution.
